Vietnam - Costs

ADOPTION COSTS: PLAN fees include application, coordination, international adoption fee and communication. Out-of-Oregon families must obtain homestudy and post placement reports in their state; PLAN provides homestudy and post placement reports for Oregon families (which explains following cost difference):

Other approximate expenses:
Travel - The trip to Vietnam is approximately 3 to 4 weeks. For the purpose of budgeting, travel is approximately $1,300 per person from the West Coast. Lodging and meals will vary but for budget purposes approximately $15.00 per day per person for food. Hotels vary from $40.00 (includes breakfast) per night to $150.00 per night. PLAN/Vietnam recommends one of two choices.
Child’s U.S. Visa-Visa $380

PLEASE NOTE: All documents from Vietnam are provided with translations to families. Adoptions in Vietnam are final, if both parents travel; however, readoption in state of residence, then naturalization is highly recommended. Additional budgeting should be considered to allow for readoption and naturalization after arrival home ($500 - $1000 approximately).
