FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

Please note: PLAN does not endorse any of the following options but offers them as a resource to assist families.

Tax Credits:
Federal Adoption Tax Credits:  Families are currently able to claim a tax credit for adoption expenses. State Tax Credits: Some states provide adoption tax credits and non-recurring adoption fee reimbursements. (Please see your tax consultant.)

• Employer assistance:   
  Your employer may offer adoption benefits to their employees.  Ask your Human Resources Department.

• Oregon Families Adopting Special Needs Children in Any State
  Most children adopted from the foster care system are eligible for adoption assistance (subsidy).  This may include a medical card and a monthly stipend. Contact our U.S. Program Coordinator, Beth Edens at (503) 472-8452, Ext 118, or email bethe@planlovingadoptions.org.
